@Everyone Here's a snippet of my current WIP Project W. I'm two chapters away from being done with this story! But this snippet is from chapter 4 and is Shale's POV, he's one of my favorites to write!
Genre - YA Fantasy/Non-Magical/Mental health
Title - Project W - The Chronicles of Uriu Book 2
Themes - Trust, hope, grief, mental health
Black water crashed against the sandy shoreline at the bottom of the cliffs and then beat a hasty retreat. Each wave moved with a gentle shush as if to quiet the spiral my thoughts had taken. I glanced over my shoulder at the stone and plaster huts of the village and the people who went about their days as if my life had never been upended, not once but twice. First with my parents and then three months ago with Rio.
Why must the tides of my life change so quickly? Why must they always retreat with someone I loved held in their clutches?
Clear blue sky stretched overhead, meeting the dark waters of the Inken Ocean on the horizon. Light and darkness. Beauty and terror. They touched there at the world's edge, but for me, they lived inside. A tangled mess left by years of hardship and loss.
A few months ago, I would have brought these problems to the Spirit, back when I believed He cared.
He didn’t.
If He was real, He’d abandoned me that day on the beach.
